The Spanish Aerosol Association (AEDA) held its annual Forum in the city of Tarragona on May 30, 2024

With record attendance figures, it brought together more than 80 people from 36 companies in the sector.

During the day took place the ordinary and extraordinary General Assembly of Members, to report on the activities carried out by the working committees and elect the new Board of Directors of AEDA.

Also during the Forum, an interesting market study was presented on the production of aerosols in Spain during the year 2023, which showed "how our country is consolidated one more year among the largest European manufacturers, with nearly 300 million aerosols produced, and a benchmark at the technological level" says Maite Viñes, general director of AEDA. "It is important to put in value the good figures of our industry in the European context, as we cannot forget that this geographical area is the largest production of aerosols in the world, with more than 5,300 million units manufactured annually, followed by the United States (3,750 million) and China (2,655 million) according to data from 2022."

According to Jordi Codina, CEO of STERNALIZA, "2023 was a year of great challenges in the industrial sector, but also in the Spanish economy, since we came from a 2022 with runaway prices and with difficulties in the supply of many of our raw materials. The year 2023 began with sky-high inflation, with central bank warnings threatening interest rate hikes, but with a relatively high level of consumption compared to previous periods".

The day also saw the presentation of the aerosol awards, encompassed in 4 different categories such as sustainability, innovation in packaging design, most innovative product and most creative marketing strategy. "It is an excellent opportunity to promote technological advances in the sector and give visibility to companies that work tirelessly in the development of new products to meet the needs of an increasingly demanding market," said Maite Viñes.

At the end of the session, the attendees emphasized their satisfaction for participating in this event, which has become a benchmark within our sector, an essential meeting point to connect in an informal and relaxed way with a large part of the aerosol industry.

"This event captures the attention of a large part of the companies in our country, since aerosol technology is tremendously transversal and is present in the daily life of almost every home," underlines José Luis Macías, president of AEDA. "In 75% of Spanish homes we can find products that use this packaging."

Cultural activities followed to generate this space for meeting and conversation. Thanks to all sponsors: ZELNOVA ZELTIA as main sponsor and REPSOL and GRIT as activity sponsors who contributed to make this day a success.

AEDA more than 60 years at the service of the Aerosol Industry!
