German aerosol can manufacturer TUBEX wins three German Packaging Awards!

Tubex was extremely successful with this year’s entry at the German Packaging Award competition.

Three out of four entries have been awarded with the prestigious German Packaging Award.

An award for Design goes to the joint entry with the company DFNS powered by aluair©.

Tubex manufactures the unique aerosol can whose eye catching patented design also helps

to save CO2 emission by using air as a propellant instead of propellant gas. Aluair© and

DFNS have developed this PFAS-free and water-soluble footwear protection spray to show

that attractive design and environmental protection complement each other very well.

Not only is the groove a design characteristic but on top will hold the pressure control

system in the future.

Tubex won the second award in the category New Material for the joint development of a

new internal coating together with PPG Industries specially designed for beverages namely

wine and sparkling wine. There has been quite some change not only in terms of design

since Tubex manufactured the first aluminium bottles ever for beer in the early 1980s but

also on regulatory requirements.  The award-winning internal coating already fulfils today

the requirements of tomorrow in terms of BPA-ni and formaldehyde.

Finally Tubex has won jointly with Respray solutions Kft the third award in the category

Sustainability Concept. Both, Tubex cans and Respray solutions have a unique and holistic

sustainability approach which complements each other perfectly. Tubex supplies Respray

with its aluminium can with patented Neucan 3.1 alloy with real PCR® content and

decorated with natural printing ink. Start-up Respray came up with an ingenious idea to refill

aluminium deodorant cans by using compressed air instead of LPG propellants. In this case

the deodorant cans are not used only once but can be refilled up to 5 times with the

favourite deodorant. In order to refill an aluminium can Respray invented a machine that can

currently hold up to 3 product types and the customer can easily refill her/his deodorant at

the point of sale.

The jury of the German Packaging Award had to choose from nearly 250 entries in ten

categories.

Tubex and its partners are very excited that the innovations were honoured with a German

Packaging Award. The German Packaging Award is awarded annually and is organized by the

German Packaging Institute in Berlin.
